Carpeting Austin Healey 3000 1961 BT7

Hi all,
I am about to start carpeting by BT7. I have Rick Cryslers excellent notes and Andrea Villa's great photo's but still have a couple of questions.
I intend to use Dynomat with jute overlay. Is the jute underlay only applied to the flat floor areas? More specifically is the jute excluded from the rear/jump seat area and also along the inner sills? In these area I assume the carpet is glued directly to the Dynomat.
Thanks
Phil

Originally I think the jute was only in the footwells and up to the front end of the seat rails . When I did my 67 . I put Dynomat in all the footwells on the floor up to the seat rails and covering the transmission tunnel . I then put jute everywhere except where the rear seat pans are . It all depends how correct you want the car to be versus how much heat/noise you want to keep out of the car . :eagerness::encouragement:

Do it all except leave the jute out, if it gets wet it stays wet and stinks.--:sorry:

Why are you using jute? If it's for originality, then OK (but I wonder what the concours judges say about dynamat). If you're not too worried about originality, I would use some sort of insulating material on top of the dynamat instead of jute. Dynamat does have some insulating properties, but it's primarily a sound deadener.

Your feet will thank you.

I am not going for concourse, just happen to have some spare jute. What would you suggest as an alternative insulating material to jute?

Phil,
I used dynaliner, but I'm not sure I would use it again. It works fine, but I think there are some cheaper alternatives that also work well. Hopefully, others will chime in on this with some suggestions.

Given the famous heat problems in the Healey cockpit, I coated the entire foot compartment, firewall, and transmission tunnel with both Dynamat and Dynaliner. Even with that, my feet get hot on hot days.
