I assume both of these would cost cubic dollars to restore properly but are for sale at a combined classic car lot / denture clinic (odd combo). Interestingly both RHD and the Austin has a British plate still.

Bentley Mark VI

Made from 1946 to 1952 this was the first car to be sold by the company with factory built bodywork. Fitted with a 4,257cc or (4.566cc 1951 and on) inline six cylinder F-head engine. A total of 5202 made.

Austin A125 Sheerline

3995 cc OHV straight six engine. About 8000 made. RHD with British plates (MKL 933).

I'd sooner tackle that "suicide doors" Lincoln we can almost see there... Cubic dollars doesn't BEGIN to describe what it'd take to do any of the others.

Yeah, Doc, but............

Now, the Jaguar has been pimped a bit so its not as desirable as the Austin.

Maybe that is why they are where they are...projects you really have to get your teeth into, hehe!!! If you can afford the bridge-work, you can afford one of these!!

Only way I see for either one of those is on a "time and materials" basis... and THAT would be outrageous!

The Jag is a parts car, IMO. And what a shame. I HATE to see ANY of 'em in that condition.
And again: for a "project" to realise any kind of 'return on investment', I'd say the Lincoln has the best shot.

I wouldn't be afraid to tackle any of the three. But, I don't think my life expectancy would ever see any of them finished.

My point, Jeff. As a"personal" project, any one of 'em would be a lifetime endeavor. Commercially so expensive as to be impossible unless it was someone like Leno... and that only if there were some overwhelming 'historically significant' reason to ressurect one.

Again: what a shame.

Well, maybe if one of us rolled our pantleg up real high..............
Nah, I don't need that visual at all!

But dang, that Jag would be fun!

I ain't at odds with the "fun factor". It'd be seein' it either roll out in all its glory or across Barrett's stage I doubt we'd ever see... as you've already so eloquently stated.

P'raps some "SMALLER" fish to fry, tho. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

My personal goal is to drive my Elan again before I need a walker and Horsemits mannin' a hoist for me to get into it.

Small goals. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

Sorry Doc I don't think that is a Lincoln. It looks like a 1965 Chrysler Imperial.

Went back an' looked... mebbe right: the hood on the Lincolns (IIRC) was radius'd not angled. Mirror looks off and the windshield "rake" is diff'rent.

Mia Culpa.

..BUT(!) I'd ~STILL~ undertake a Chrysler resto over one-a them Bentley or Austin lumps.

Chrysler had a 100K mile warranty on their driveline by that time, IIRC. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

It looks to be in the best shape of any of them - except for the old green sedan.

Ironically I think the green one was part of his sign. A Chevy maybe?

and below are interior pics of the Bentley and Austin for those that can stomach it.
