Bugeye Coolant Overflow

Hi All,
Forgive me as this is my first post since buying a 1960 Sprite. I have a question about coolant overflow. Both times I have driven my Bugeye more than 6 miles the overflow tube from the cooling system has dripped coolant after I park. Is this normal? I'm also curious as to if anyone has any tips as to when you know you should "top off" the coolant due to overflow loss?

That is absolutely normal.
On my car the coolant level will drop until you can see it only if you rock the car and you will see waves lapping into view. THIS is the correct level, if you fill it more it will just dump water until it is to that level.

Back in the day, it used to be environmentally acceptable to do just that; have and overflow tube dump the excess. New cars (after what, 1968?) have to have overflow bottles to catch the stuff.
