Break Warning Light & Seat Belt Extenders

Sorry for the two items on one post but got some questions I need answered.
First: Replaced the three point seat belts in my 76B several months ago but have a real problem with the latch piece seeming to be too short. What are your opinions on using a seat belt extender (I'm not a very big person - it's just that the catch doesn't seem to extend far enough to get at with any reasonable effort. It appears to be several inches too short.

Second: Can anyone explain the brake warning light operation to me. I have replaced the bulb, which I am assuming must be in contact with the copper plate at all times and then the circuit completed by the brake pressure failure switch if there is a problem. My problem is that even though the brakes are fine (in fact, work great, having been completely gone over and all items replaced), the light will stay on at all times. It is a two wire circuit (green orange and black - the black being a ground, of course) that comes from the brake pressure failure switch through a diode and hence, through a shared connector with seat belt switches (which I do not have connected, by the way) to the break warning light. Should it not go out once the engine is started and not come on unless there is a problem with the braking system?
I apologize if this sounds somewhat technical but I'm just at a loss as to what to do because I really would like to have the brake failure switch operating.
Thanks much

I'm not sure what to tell ya about the seat belt latch portion being too short.

But for the second, have you checked the Hand Brake switch? When the hand brake is in operation the light should be on, and if all other parts of the circuit check out ok, I'd look into a possible short around the hand brake switch.

I don't think my warning light comes on when I set the hand break...but then it didn't come on when I leaked out a cup of fluid this winter from the left front caliper either. I do have a new one to put in, as the lens has been broken on the one I have since I got it. Do you want to try one of mine Ron?
