BN1 Rear Shroud Rivets

Can anyone provide the correct rivet spacing (and size)along the bottom rear edge of the BN1 rear shroud, and also along the fwd edge of the boot opening? From available pictures it appears that the aft edge of the boot opening has about 12 rivets, but confirmation of that would also be appreciated!

The rivets are aluminum, 1/8" diameter by 1/4" long, flat head. Part #BPR1111. Don't know the quantity & spacing off hand.

British Car Specialists in Stockton, CA has the correct rivets & can likely tell you the quantity & spacing if you give them a call. 1-209-948-8767.

I remember that they are a real bother to get properly set in an awkward area.

Just put them in my BJ8. Probably the same. There are thirteen at the boot opening. Originally they are 1/8 inch diameter. Since my aluminum rear shroud rivet holes were wallowed out, the choice was to spend a great deal of money having the shroud lip holes welded up and re-drilled, I went to a 3/16 inch rivet. The heads on that sized rivet are much too big, so I turned them down to approximate the smaller original rivet heads. I had a friend who is building an aluminum kit aircraft help with the installation. It went pretty well. Using a rivet gun did expand the heads a bit, so they ended up larger than original, that's ok, they needed to be a bit larger to accommodate the wear.

13 in the boot opening also, 1-6,8-13 approx 2.5" centres
6-8 approx 2 7/8" centres
Lower lip 19 at approx 2 5/8" centres here

Thanks for the help. I've had to TIG new edges almost all the way around the shroud (only exception is cockpit area), and am getting to the final fitment stage.

How many rivets and spacing on the forward edge of the boot opening? Is there any spacers or shims between the subframe bracing and the rear shroud where the boot hinges attach? What size backing washers (or plates) are on the boot hinges?

No rivets on mine, 2 cross heads at 10" centre to centre with nuts on back, offset equally from centre of shroud opening, not self tappers, checked spare shroud, also 10" centres x2 only, no shims, boot hinges attach to skin (1), in oval cutout on 50mmx30mmx1.6mm channel and (1) to channel itself under skin, on boot lid 1x direct to skin, and 1 to tang on reinforcing tang as per book,(see page P8) nuts as per book, similar to "nylocks", no washers on mine, and no backing plates, NOTE, mine is body no 860, things may have changed in the interim, consult clausinger et al re yours, NOTE, in some cases people have reported having found a sound deadener/glue between shroud and body, to stop vibration etc/?
