Moss sells the black Everflex BJ7 top with clip-in rear window and will probably be your quickest source for this item. I did look at one and it appears to be correct although it was just in a box, not mounted. I believe Robbins sells one too. Of course you need to have the clips and the metal bar that goes along the bottom of the window. For the hardware check with British Car Specialists. I think they have the clips new and perhaps the metal bar used.

I have been trying to get Heritage to make a BJ7 specific top and have lined up some potential original tops for pattern making but they have not decided if there is enough demand to make a BJ7 top. Please call Heritage .. inquire about a BJ7 clip-in window top to help push them to add this to their line (even if it doesn't help you with your immediate need).

Great looking car, the black body and red interior was the original spec for my BJ7. How have you dealt with the cover over the soft top and the rear squab? There are 4 tenax fasteners around the outside, two at the rear and one on each side near the edges of the doors but are there any on the rear squab? I have seen BJ8s with tenax fasteners in the front of the squab, and I remember one car with fasteners on the top edge of the squab, but what is correct for the BJ7? any ideas.

Hi Bob,
There are two Tenax studs that screw into the top of the seat squab to hold down the hood storage cover on the BJ7. It is part TFP 810 in the parts book and British Car Specialist carries it (and probably anybody else with a good range of Tenax stuff). The screw portion is long with wood screw type threads.

Have the remote possibility of finding a new, OEM top......will be informed about that tomorrow, I can not say what the probability is, one never knows, tho, specially with my main man here.

Robbins Auto Top Co. If you go to the website you can download their catalog. I just checked and they do list a BJ7 w/clip-in window in Everflex but not sure how accurate it is.

Hummmmmm - will look. Also, in the meantime, I have discovered, through the original BMC part book, that the change-over point is way before our car's body number, so we may even have the correct top for the car!

I can't view the initial pics but the pics of the last car show the rear shock links flipped up. They should be pivoted down so the lever arm on the shock is horizontal or mid range in its travel while the car is on its wheels.

If your looking for 100% concours, the C clamp sway bar brackets should be painted black! (The concours reference below is from the 2014 version.) (Great car by the way!!)
