Here's another story. My friend Paul (has a TR250) told me this morning that a friend has a "small car" in his barn / shed. He has no idea what it is. He was talking about taking it to the scrap yard. Paul went to Livermore (where the car is) this early afternoon and called me with some info. He sent pictures but I can't upload them to the BCF.
Turns out it is a 1963 TR3B. only some surface rust, very solid and straight. All the parts original parts are there. I would love to take the TR3 off his hands (the price is right FREE), But My Wife and I just bought a house in Boise Idaho, and have a lot to do before moving. So he is going to trailer the TR3 to a friends house in Idaho and leave it there for me until I get the new house and work shop in order. Free TR3B and free delivery can't beat that!

Dan, what a friend! Post the comission number when you can, curious to know what it is. I have a 3B that is 300 from the last one made.

I would take delivery of the car and change the title and put it a storage unit until you could bring it home. You don't want to loose the car for that price.

Very nice that would make my day/year. My son lived in Boise and I met this guy there who probably has 5 to 10 tr3s lying around that he buys and sells. Boise is high desert and some of the cars there are like California cars. I nick named him “Steve the Squirrel” for obvious reasons, but he is a cool guy. He has an upholstery shop on Fairview I think just up from Downtown and drives a 1954 Nash Healey.

Yes, congratulations. These finds are becoming very rare. I had been looking for a couple of years before I found my 59 3A, which was not really a barn find but a rust free driver used sparingly and garaged properly by the former owner for almost 50 years. It was a lot more than free also.

Good things happen to good people! Dan is good people. He has probably given away a complete TR in parts. :encouragement:

Nice find, does it have an overdrive also? Boise is a nice town, I have been there a few times.

I agree! Of course, should he decide to do that again with this car (I'll give you good directions to my house), I'll gladly nominate him for sainthood! ;)

I have not seen the car in person yet. According to the vin # no overdrive. I have tried to down load the photos with no luck. I emailed them to Pat G. To see if he could download them for me. I will be looking at a 1 acre I drove out to Boise today to look at property. I gotta have at least a 3 car workshop plus the 2 car garage for the daily drivers. Also need room for the fifth wheel and motorcycle. I will be looking at a 1 acre lot with a 2000 square foot house on super bowl day. I do have my priorities!

P.S. the first house I bought (in contract) was not what was described so we are going to cancel that contract, after looking at it tonight there is just to much work to be done on the house. Plus no work shop.

Here are Dan's Barn Find photos

Dan, sorry the house didn't work out but I'm sure you'll find one soon!

I like it! Lots of potential. Actually, I think the white with that "shadow blue" interior would look pretty good.
