Another wiring question 57 smallmouth control head

I just installed a new control head from TRF. I must admit this is a very nice piece and on sale for less than $140. I had to modify my wheel hub with a dremel but no big deal. My question is how is the wiring routed from the gland nut to the drivers side harness containing the horn , running lights and turn signals? Also, I'm curious. I have these giant wires in and out of the horns and a much smaller wire that is to be grounded by the horn button. I seem to remember a Peter Egan story about prom night, Barb's new white dress, and a TR3 wiring harness burning up because Peter hit the horn button. I think I know why....

Wire gauge discrepancy is notable, but I have a TRF head on my '59 and it works fine. My wire goes up left of the steer box to the first wire clip on the inner wing.

The wire itself isn't that much smaller, it's mostly the insulation that is thinner (at least for the original harness). If it concerns you, you could always add a horn relay (which would also help extend the life of the horn contacts inside the control head). I ran one on my 59 TR3A (but eventually discovered the real problem was a bullet sleeve that was broken internally).
