I just remember somebody giving a ringing endorsement on one of these threads about a supplier for these things, didn't need it then, so of course I didn't pay much attention. I need it now, so of course I can't find it. Murphy strikes again.
"Then and Now" rebuilt mine - the cost of rebuild was $85 including labor and all the parts. Done in less than a week. They sell good rebuild kits also.
Dunno if they have them for your car, but I was very pleased with the kit from TRF for my TR3. It included the shaft seal that is missing from most kits, a brass screen (not plastic as some others), and both cork & nitrile rubber sediment bowl gaskets (cork is as original, nitrile works better).
Took me longer to R&R the pump than to install the kit (but I didn't try to polish the pump or anything).
Then and Now is the favorite of mine. Although I have heard, as Randall says that TRF has improved their kits. I wonder where they may be getting them?
Certainly looked to me as though they were 'kitting' the parts themselves. Just the usual stapled plastic bag with a TRF label, with the loose components inside (although some of them were in smaller paper envelopes).
A definite contrast to years ago, when I got a kit in an AC box (and no shaft seal inside).
I'm in agreement with ya, Bill, regarding the "new" pumps.
I'd be checking with NAPA for a kit, too. Those AC pumps were near ubiquitous for decades, not very different internally across a number of applications.
