I am looking for a photo of the installed, supplemental
external oil feed line for the rocker arm assembly of TR6.
I tried google and came up empty.

I cannot tell from The Roadster Factory drawing where the
line begins or ends. Any other vendors? Or is TRF the best
for the supplemental oil feed?

Thanks,

Dale

This is the way it looks installed. You remove the oils switch and then put the adapter in the threaded hole in the block. The switch goes in the adapter along with the line on the other fitting.

At the bottom of the head, in the left rear, just above the throttle pedal shaft, is a bolt in the head. It is very short because it only blocks the oil galley. The round open fitting of the stainless line goes there, with a thin, small copper washer on each side and a special open bolt fitting in the center.

DO NOT drop the washers. You cannot install without them and no amount of sealer in the world will stop the leaks. I would order spares if you decide to do this.

Good luck. Mine lasted six months because I used it with an aluminum valve cover with no baffle and started using a quart of oil every 300 miles. You've seen the pictures of the intake ports full of oil, so no sense in showing them again.

Oh, by the way. After I took that picture, I rerouted the line around the fuel pump in a different manner than shown here. Never took another since it was gone in the spring.

That is beautiful..............LOL!!!!

I think that Wendy may be putting a lock down on Dale, not the tool box.

No offense intended to anyone, but many seem to feel that, at BEST, this is a band-aid rather than an improvement. If you're truly NOT getting enough oil up there, chances are there is a deeper problem that should be fixed first (like a blocked or restricted oil passage).

Thanks Paul!!

Appreciated.

Funny photoshop Stricken, a good chuckle!

?? If the supplemental oil enters the head over
cylinder No.6, will the supplemental oil make it
to the rocker arms of cylinder No.1 ??

thanks as always,

d

Even as a band-aid, the cure may be worse than the disease!

Here's a little souvenir from my attempt to 'repair' an improperly installed rear cam bearing (which on a TRactor motor blocks the feed to the rocker shaft) by installing an external oil feed.

PS, this happened after I installed a 1/32" restrictor in the line

PPS, sorry, I didn't keep the warning for excessive smoke ... but I did get one.

That is a piston with broken rings.

Lock your tool box, shut off the computer and go for a ride.

A LONG ride.

Ahhhh, yes. The pictures always hook them.

That, my friend, I believe, is the Good Parts Oil Separator.

Do you think that it may be due to the fact that you rebuilt it properly as well? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/winner1.gif
