1500 radiator in an earlier 1275 cross flow Midget?

Still cobbling together this Midget (1973) from parts. The original cross flow radiator is
in rough shape. I have a radiator in much better condition from a 1500 and while
there are some differences it looks like it will bolt in. The 1500 radiator is larger and
should provide better cooling.

Has anyone done this, and if so what were the challenges? TIA

I have never tried it but if you want a radiator that came out of a '71 (in San Diego) you can have it (needs a small repair)

Steve, I'm running one in my 1500 Datsun engined midget. I have the fresh air inlet on the side that the early MG 1500 radiator sticks into so I flipped it over. Had the local rad shop cover the one large outlet and put in a small tube to go to a BMC overflow can. I have been filling it through the top hose. I also cut some large holes in the front shroud with a hole saw to let air flow through the side extension of the 1500 Midget radiator. Keeps my Datsun engine cool at 80+MPH and 100 degrees outside. If you have the early steering rack as I do you will have to modify the housing to raise it a bit to clear the fatter early rack.
