Re: 1000 Sprites
I just came back from there this evening. 4 hours driving from Gaydon to Harwich, 18 hour Ferry to Esbjerg, 4 hours driving to Copenhagen.
There were well over 1000 spridgets. closer to 1500, but official numbers and estimates aren't always in agreement. I have a whole lot of photos that I will post soon. I saw the truck-midget driving in, but didn't get a chance to look at it closer. The same can be said for much of the show. It was after all only one day. I arrived about 9am and stayed til 5pm. I got very tired from walking around, taking pictures, talking to owners, fiding the best cars to investigate further etc. and I only got to see about a third to half of the field. I did see quite a few sebrings, some extreemly original examples with very low mileage and all original, some highly modified cars (Rover V8), many replica and original Pritchard-Williams cars, some replicas quite nicely done, like
Kai Eriksson's fine example from Norway. (Did you know Norwegian is very close to Danish?)
Inside the heritage center, Mike Garton told his story about MEG-199

Since I really like the Sebring Sprites and the most famous is of course PMO200, I just had to talk to a current owner Sharon Woolmer
(Link) and she was kind enough to take this picture.
Her friend Tom Coulthard was also on hand to re-sign my copy of Spritely Years.
