Went for a great run today - 180 miles around the Texas countryside. The weather was perfect, temperature, including the usual heat leaking into the cockpit was also spot on.
Unfortunately, the exhaust down pipe sheared completely through, in the flexible bit.
My question is, has anyone had any success welding a failed flexible, or should I just buy a new downpipe? I am loath to fork out for a new stainless system since the back end of mine is already stainless and in good condition. The flexible is a rusty brown colour so presumably I have a mild steel downpipe and stainless back-end.
Thanks
