I don't like them - I much prefer to get the water choke working correctly which is not a hard thing to do once you understand them.

I much prefer the manual choke over those "plumber's nightmare" setups. Increased reliability. Less places for potential leaks, less "fussing" to set up the carb: when the choke is in the OFF position, you KNOW it's OFF. Not so with the vodka wersion.
I'm all Nomex'd up now...

But, then, I've been running my ZS since I bought the car new with it - & it never a problem! Moved to Kansas & 'thought' I needed a manual choke for the winters there - biggest mistake I ever made with that car & I went back to the auto choke within a short time...darned manual choke never would work right! But, I kept all my emissions controls in place - don't know if that affects the manual choke or not but I threw it as far as I could when I removed it.

Your: "...since I bought the car new with it." is the very reason it DID work. YOU took care of your car. Most have been neglected, passed thru multiple owners, abused. There are different "kits" too. Some good, some not. I don't recall where we got the ones we used but I suspect it was a Q-H variety IIRC. Pro'lly from "Special Interest". What a shame they're gone.
