Has anyone tried to fit the "Grose Jet" valve into a Z-Stromberg carb? I find I cannot get it to screw in completely and therfore the gasket does not seal. It appears the threads are slightly different than the bore threads and the stock needle and seat.

I tried the "Grose jet" on my Series 1 XJ6, thought this would be cool and never have problems. Replaced and drove car to work, upon leaving at night found a trail of fuel 30' long coming from car. Called wife and had her bring old jets and put back in and never had a problem again.
 
If I remember correctly (always an issue) grose jets for strombergs came with a selection of gaskets, and I remember using a couple on each one.If that is not the case, contact them, perhaps they have an explanation or work around. Otherwise the stock needle and seat assemblies work fine. Oh yeah, one last thought. Strombergs originally have a small screen that kinda fits to the needle and seat assy. When the N and S get changed over the years, sometimes I have seen them stuck in the fuel inlet above the NandS assy. Check and see as that might prevent the grose jet from going in far enough.
 
More bother than they're worth, IMO. A Viton tipped N&S are about as "trick" as is necessary.
