I'm one of the ones that hopes this is legit. Whether it was bought by the kid or not, he wasn't in a position where he "had" to buy it. It's relatively easy to back out of an eBay auction if he really wanted to. From the pics I've seen, the sills look solid, and even if it's been gutted, parts are easy enough to come by. He may not have money now...but he has sixteen years to get the job done. He could spend the next decade concentrating on raising his daughter, doing Spridget research, and putting some money away; then a six-year leisurely restoration with a young assistant mechanic.
