MGB young son riding in MGB

It's not right if this just degenerates into more of a mess than it already is.

Mack you have to do what's best for you and your son.

But, there also comes a point where there's no hope in negotiating or compromising...you'll have to judge if its come to that point already.

My wife and I hate hearing about young people splitting up. This July 5th. my wife and I will have been married 38 years...but have known each other since we were five. The only things she gripes at me about is when I take my weiner dog for a ride in one of our verts with the top down....she wants me to belt her in. Good luck on your situation..and I've given both my son and daughter numerous cars since they were old enough to drive, 15 in New Mexico...and still buy them one occasionly. In June I'm giving my son a totally refurbed 911S, a 75 model. He'll be mad for a while, but that'll wear off quickly.

This whole thing is sad, and we all feel a sadness for you and your son. I think you have to make a value judgement on several issues that we on the forum cannot make for you. All this being said it seems to me that if you have seatbelts, talk to your lawyer, and decide it is OK, then do it. One other safety thought, if you think you need it, is a roll bar. I've helped rebuild a TR6 for my college age son the last 5 yrs and his Mom insist on a roll bar before we got very far along. It seemed a good idea to me.
