So I decided to have a beer at the hotel bar before calling it an evening.
I struck up a conversation with a very nice gentleman named Mike. As it turns out we had lots in common... He also has a '74 TR6. We talked about different suppliers and our cars.
I then mentioned that my wife and I drove the Great Ocean Road in Australia and it would have been nice to drive it with TR6. Mike then tells me he lives in Geelong which is the gateway to the Great Ocean Road and graciously offered his car if I ever get back.
You meet the nicest people with LBC's!!!

Nifty.
I remember driving the Great Ocean Road myself (late 2003). Wonderful little towns along the way. I'll never forget the Coorong... which I walked about a half mile from shore and the water was only up to my knees.

We got down as far as Lorne because we ran out of time. You're right; pleasant little towns, great views, and twisty roads just begging to be driven.

I remember Lorne... but sort of felt it was closer to the start for me. Continuing west and then north, "The 12 Apostles" (fly invested), and then there was a charming town called Mt. Gambier (I think). I remember "Robe" and "Portland." I drove all the way Adelaide (having started in Melbourne).

So you did tell him about BCF, right?
Not only did I tell him about the BCF, I also emailed him the link to this thread.

Your post about "I shall visit you in the small hours" was enough to scare me into submission :glee:

Well you are in the boss's good graces for a while. Brownie points for sure. :eagerness:
