I gotta love those part out wrecking yards!

Went to the one that I frequent and in the back
of a MGB they had there was........
A brand new vinyl top with a zip out rear window
that still had the stickers on it, and a new header rail
with the sticker on it.

Fee for entry to the bone yard...$2.00
New Vinyl top and top rail $14.71
feeling as I left the bone yard Priceless!

Wow! You're gonna have a good Thanksgiving!

 Good find!

Well done!

Good job!

I've recently picked a yard about 30 minutes from here for six pair of Fiero seats...and today for this set of Datsun 280ZX wheels....Will be going back (weather permitting) on Monday for some other goodies....there is an MGB/GT there that beckons me.

Geez Dave, nice score! Especially in California where it's so hard to find older cars in junk yards, let alone an MGB. It's been 15-20 years since I've seen an MG of any kind in a wrecking yard near me.

That surprises me for SoCal. Yours may not have the rust issues that ours have....but they still suffer mechanical failures and/or accidents.

Here's the GT at one of the local yards....1972...sills and floors are gone.

Fiero seats are the new "in" seats for our LBC's

They are comfortable and the fit is good. Miata seats are another alternative.

I've found more junked Fieros here in central Illinois than Miatas (zero).

I have Fiero seats in the V8 and will be putting them into my 1972 MGB and my 1978 MGB.

I know that Steve Simmons will not concur....but I like the look and feel of Fiero seats in an MGB....I prefer them over the Miata seats.

My stock seats in each of the MGCs are comfortable and I will not be changing them out.

Here's a set of Fiero seats that I did for an enthusiast up in Chicago. I also did the Fiero seats in the MGB/GT Roadmaster project as well as for a couple of other enthusiasts in the midwest.

I did not know tha tFiero seats worked in the MG's,
there are 4 of them sitting at the bone yard,
I just bought a pair of Miata seats for $30 there,
so now I will investigat the Fiero seat to see what shape they are in.
Thanks

I use Mr.Mikes covers on my jobs.

The vinyl kits and the leathers kit are both outstanding.

I have no problem with the feel of Fiero seats, I just don't like how they look in an older car. In a later B I think they are a natural fit (although I prefer Miata seats), but in early cars I prefer something that looks more period-correct.

The lack of MGs in our junk yards could also be the result of everyone buying "California cars" and shipping them to other parts of the world. We lost literally hundreds of MGAs in the 90's overseas. You don't see them in driveways and side yards anymore like you used to because of this.

Could also be because of certain laws or scrap programs emptying out wrecking yards so quickly. The Chinese depleted huge portions of our scrap steel in recent years.

Fiero seats do not fit in an MGA, in case anyone was thinking of trying. Miata do, with a few minor mods.

The Miata also had a version that came in tan leather, which would be a saving over having to completely recover a set of seats.
