I officiated at a Memorial Day soccer tournament this weekend in Gettysburg, PA. It was lots of fun except, I had a fifteen year old girl who did not like my "no-call" who looked me straight in the eye and said <span style="font-style: italic">"what the "F" is your problem ref?"</span>
OK, so I stop the game and dismiss her (red card).
What gets me is that neither her nor her parents apologized or could care less about her language; it was deemed acceptable to them.
If it were my kid, they'd be in trouble on the field and OFF the field.

Look at the garbage that Hollywood and the television industry doles out as "entertainment" these days and it's small wonder some kids act like that. Oh, and if your a teacher, don't DARE discipline a little foul-mouthed darlin'!

Right you are Bas.... I'm not so sure you could even defend yourself against a student that attacks you without being held liable.

Randy, ditto for me for 10 years.
At the end for me was the apathy from the parents and the kids

I umpired baseball from Little League all the way up through college level (LSU, Tulane, etc.) and one of the first things you learn is not to have RABBIT EARS. Of course, having a young girl drop the F-bomb on you to your face is hard to ignore. What a shame.

"Evolving mores"... more's th' pity.

I was sitting in the bleachers at
my daughters HS track meet,

3 teenage girls sitting one row up
directly behind me.
The language they were using would make a
truck driver blush (I'm a truck driver)
and a sailer cringe.

I slowly turned around and gave them
the look of disbelief, and one of them says
to me in a loud obnoxious voice,

"What the F*** you lookin at CRACKER BOY!!!!???"

I could only shake my head in disbelief,
and make sure that I raise my children not
to be like that, (and they aren't)

"Houston, we have a problem."
