Hey everybody. I am contemplating buying a 74 Mg Midget, and came on here to do some research and just get a feel for the car. If anyone knows of any threads I should check out, please post them in this thread. I know the car I am looking at needs to have a little tranny work done, and I am curious if this is something that I could easily do myself. Any good sites to buy parts for the car? Can I get a 5 speed transmission and swap in? Anyway, I don't know much about this car, and assuming I like it, and FIT in it, I might just be getting it tomorrow. Thanks for any help and I look forward to being on here more often.

Hello, and welcome to the BCF..... A little late in the evening to be getting many answers today, but who knows.

Anyway, make your way to the "Spridget" forum, there you will find members who have been there, and done it all with Midgets. They will have answers to your questions and will give you all the guidance you need.

Good places to buy parts? There are many!

DIY tranny rebuild? Probably do-able, if you are a decent wrench.....

A 5-speed? I think that an old Datsun tranny is a direct fit but do not quote me, I am not a Spridget expert.

You SHOULD fit in it......

Good luck, go ahead, jump in and ask away!
