Yet another alternator conversion

I finally did what I always knew I'd do: replaced the generator in my Bugeye with an alternator. It was a fun project, and worked out quite well. so far I've just run it in the garage, but tomorrow I'll take it out for a longer smoke test.

I wrote up a page for my web site describing the conversion, not that the world needs another page on this subject. In case any of you are really bored and need some lowbrow entertainment (especially now that all the TV writers in LA are on strike), you can find it at https://www.nonlintec.com/sprite/alternator/

That's a nice write up. Much better than the dross on TV these days -- I don't watch TV anyways, so the strike is no loss to me. I'd much rather read Sprite articles any day. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

55 Amps sounds like a winner.
Bosch 13107 is on my winter list.....
Cheers Steve.

Drew, I actually don't watch TV either, with the exception of British mysteries on PBS, to which I'm totally addicted. My favorite is Inspector Morse, whose passions are Mozart, good beer, and his classic Jaguar. My kinda guy. Inspector Lynley drives a Bristol, which is OK, I guess, but a little hoity-toity. I'm still waiting for a detective who drives a Sprite--but I don't think it will happen; somehow it just doesn't seem to have the cachet.

Meanwhile, while everyone else is suffering through withdrawal symptoms from their soaps and sitcoms, I'll work on the Bugeye...!

I catch Top Gear when it's on, but thats via the good ole' internet. I'm at least thinking about working on the Bugeye, the best I can do for now. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I would like to think it is a role ala Colbert!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif

Methinks each guy on that show has his "role" to play!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

Excellent write-up Steve. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thankyousign.gif
