2 sets of SUs are going in the mail today to Jim Taylor in OK for rebuilding. The cost of the kit and the $50-55 he gets for rebuilding them isn't worth my (dahubby's) aggravation!

Sitting on the OD for Emma. It's going to John's probably this week for rebuild, inhibitor switch, whatever else it needs.

Ordering a carpet kit for Emma (soon as I figure out what to order) and got some dye to check for antifreeze.radiator leaks - since she's still dropping green stuff -(will do that this week too)

Tackling the rust spot on the floorboard (going to cut it out and patch weld) and wirebrushing everything else to be sure.

Here's my order of attack (correct me if I'm wrong here)

--rust...blast/grind spot, patch, Penatrol
--Prep the body for paint (so very little to do here, although I may need a driver's doorskin)
--Suspension...blast, paint, front then rear
--brakes...MC, etc.
--fuel system...tank, pump etc. (I want a Pertronix)
--engine
--interior

And am going to decide on a color if it KILLS me.

It's broken. Was broken last evening.

I'm not a fan of blue anything, but I have this '66 with Iris Blue as my computer wallpaper and it keeps haunting me.

RATS! Just called the guy about my carbs. He just had eye surgery. Said to call in a couple weeks, hopefully he'll be released from his doctor by then. Hehe, sounded about 90 years old. There's Joe Curto, but dang, he wants $350 to do a set of SUs. I think I'll wait!!!

We don't wallpaper together and we don't rebuild carbs together. We sorta like being married to each other.

I THOUGHT about that. I mean, how hard can it be? There are people in the club that have done rebuilds in the past. And John Twist has a 'tech session' on rebuilding carbs coming up in February.

We could try it on one set, and if both of us are still alive and one of us isn't in jail, we could tackle the set for Binabox. What's to lose?

Those SU's are as simple to rebuild as any carb could be. Just have good info beside you as you do it. Step at a time and you'll be able to do 'em blindfolded after the first set!

My wife and I wallpapered together once .... and she always helps me when I'm working on the 'rumphs - and we're STILL married! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Of course, now you know why I call her /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/angel.gif

I think the only hard part about rebuilding SUs is if you have to ream out the throttle shaft ports. It needs to be done precisely.

After playing with hers for a short time....I don't think they'll need reaming

I weren't gonna touch it no matter WOT thread it wuz in.

You're a brave individual, Greg.

Baby I saw that hours ago and had to sit on my hands to keep from making a smartassed remark.
