Xke series lll cooling issues

I’ve owned a 74 xke since new.. we have the original radiators / fans etc. we always have to watch the temps in the summer time/ don’t run the a/c when dr icing in town , etc.
My question is , do the aluminum radiators / expansion tank and all that Moss Motors catalogue promote to “fix” our hot running jags really make a difference ? Or do we just live with issue that’s part of owning a jag??

If your block is clean of silt and water pump is up to snuff, should be ok. Radiator cleaned may help, with a new thermostat. If hoses are newer that are not so soft they collapse is a plus. Aluminum radiators are usually have an extra row of fins. An electric fan controlled by a thermostat s good too. I have never changed the cooling system in my jags, kept them cleaned and flushed. Check for dragging brakes too.

Thanks Larry ; i flushed the system last year., fans are electric thermostat controlled - hoses were replaced years ago: we’ll do it again

Maybe warmer weather and traffic could be an issue. Make sure caps are god as these usually run on lower pressure. 15 lbs? I would have to look it up. My MK1s are 7, and my Valiant is 5.

Flushing. What actually does that mean? Just drain and refill, or draining, then power flushing under pressure to force the crud out?

Flushing can blow heater cores.
