Some of you may already know this, but a few years back, the Jaguar XKE was installed as a work of art in the New York Museum of Modern art. It is one of only a few cars to have this honor, and the first ever to be made a perminant fixture.

It is, indeed, a beautiful car.....but I believe that the first automobile to achieve permanent exhibit status at MoMA was the Cisitalia 202.

I had a buddy that owned a foreign car repair shop, and every time an E came in, he'd step back, admire it, and say "What a beautiful, beautiful pain in the @ss!"

As I remember when the E type was installed, some of the preceders were a pre war Bugatti and the Gordon Beurig (spelling?) coffin nosed Cord.
Whether this was true or not, the Jag has achieved a real place of honor.
