Hi everybody, could i know if it's difficult to repair or change the door hinges (especially the bottom hinge of the driver's door).
From where it can be inspected?
Thanks to all!
Fabio

Hi Fabio. I see you are new to BCF! Welcome! Be sure to go to the new members forum and introduce yourself! This is a great place and many, many knowledgable and experienced minds here. And post pics of your car if you have them. We LOVE pics here! I can't help with your door question but I know there will be those that can.

Not sure how difficult, but definitely a wear point after all these years.
XK's Unlimited has new manufactured replacement hinges for them, or they will rebuild yours.

I sold my XK140 years ago, but I seem to remember that in the book "The Jaguar XK" by Paul Skilleter, there is mentioned a technique for repair of the lower door hinge by cutting a fairly hidden hole to make the repair, then putting a commonly-available rubber plug in the hole after the repair is done. Otherwise, it is a major dismantling job.

Perhaps someone has the book & can post the information from it; otherwise, you might want to get a copy of the book yourself.

Good luck!
