Working on a 1951 XK120 headlights. When we got the car its headlights were just screwed in place with somne wood screws to hold them on the car. I ordered the angle tabs and screws for the rim mounts but was wondering how the tabs are held in place, Should the tab be tack welded to the inside of the headlight bucket or what? Here are some pics of the bucket with the slot the tab extends through and a picture of the tabs themselves. I just wanted to know if I should tack weld them inside of the bucket before I get too far with the body work.
