Good morning,

Just putting the PB blaster on to break up whatever rust might be holding the wire wheels on the splines,

This car is a long way from driving having sat all these years,

right now its get it to roll , then on the trailer when I get back from vacation ,

The marvel in the engine will at least let it turn over if possible ,

no one remembers why it was parked so long ago,

I hope "prince of Darkness" problem since the dash face is off , but you never know it could be something in the motor

Update,

just got back.....

All tires hold air and the wheels turn -AMAZING after all these years....
But is there a special spark plug socket ?

my normal socket hits the spark plug wire bundle....

When I took the center section off the dash of my XK140 to check some wiring problems, I found that some PO had completely rewired *everything* behind the dash with zip cord. Simplified wiring scheme: all wires are brown.

I don't remember any special spark plug socket being needed, & don't understand hitting the spark plug bundle. Have a photo?

Be very careful replacing the spark plugs in the XK head. They're easy to start crooked, & the XK head universe is densely populated with helicoils. Chase the threads, start them with the old piece of rubber hose on the end of the spark plug method.
 
I have a good running engine for a jaguar...but it's slightly oversize. Ok if originality isn't important.

Loosen/remove the two nuts that hold the wire bundle. Otherwise, it's just a normal 13/16ths socket. Try to blow out around each plug. The area at the bottom of the plug body collects dirt and debris really well. Don't forget to use a little antiseize on re installation.

any idea what size those 2 bolts are ?

is there a metric or inch socket that will take them off ?
