XJS 4.0 Convertable quarterlight sticking

Help! when I put the canopy down on my 93 XJS 4.0 convertable the offside rear quarterlight stays up even though the motor continues to whir. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how difficult it is to fix?
well I've now had it fixed and guess what caused the problem - one of the permament magnets in the quarterlight drive motor had come unstuck and caused the motor to jam. Having paid for both a new motor and sequencer costing some ÂŁ200 I have looked at the parts and am of the opinion they are repairable although today's mechanics swap out and throw away!
