WTB Hood Latch Assembly '59 Bugeye

before i go and move the car on a road, i should probably purchase a hood latch assembly. the bugeye has none of these parts on it, no handle no nothing. moss wants about $150 for all the parts. does anyone have one on here in half decent condition that will work, but may need a good cleaning. i tried ebay but all i saw on there was just the handle.

Also will a bugeye fit on a u-haul 2 wheel car dolly, not the flatbed?

A bugeye will fit a U-haul dolley but don't tell U-haul it's a Sprite. Tell them it's an MGB or something because they say it doesn't fit. It's close, it just fits.
As for the latch, use a bungee cord for now, I know the steel bonnets will not lift if you keep it under 80 mph. Over 80 and they will lift up.
If the latch ears are there and you want to make your own latch, just pick up some 1/4" steel rod and a garage door "T" handle. It works, not original but not far from it.
Any Spridget trunk handle will work for the latch handle, and you can lock it up /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

cool, maybe i can rig something up with the steel rod and a handle to get me thru, if not i will bungee it. i did not think the bonnet would lift during transport. we wont be going more than 50mph.

Sprite Nut, I hope that the 80 mph lift test doesn't come from experience.
