It reminds me of some of the stuff people build for the annual Burning Man festival in Nevada

I've never been to it, but I did catch a special program once on all the wild mechanical things people build for it, and they are pure art, yet... The ability the artists have to build them is pure engineering, because some of them are so complex in operation...
