WOW! a "RARE" tri-carb

You musta saw the continental tire rack on the deck lid!
Or maybe the price tag? BR1 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazyeyes.gif

Funny, I rode in a tri-carb, center shift Healey today down to Palos Verdes. A little overcast, but a fun drive up Pacific Coast Highway. I’ll have to tell my friend about the auction and suggest he get some extra gauges. He’ll get a kick out of it. Thanks.

Is he selling or showing off his ride?

Steady on a minute guys /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonono.gif

That car is a BN7 ...and they are rare...in fact right hand drive MkII BN7's are the rarest production model Austin Healey. Only 35 were made...less than the 100S.

This ones left hand drive but they are still rare. Only about 350 of all types of MkBN7 were made.

Having said all that the price does seem to be way over the top even in the Barrett Jackson era. So I guess we can laugh at that.

Just to clarify, it was the price that made me lol

Hi Jack,
He used to show the car, but I think the interest in that has waned. Don’t think he has considered selling it either. Just driving and enjoying it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

psst .. Greg .. I think Jack was referring to the ebay auction not your friends tri-carb /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. Sorry to miss the PV get together but just couldn't squeeze it in this weekend. On the plus side, was able to get two good afternoon sessions in on the restoration so just that much closer to getting it on the road.

Cheers,
John

If he can get 100k for that car I have one that will be sold asap.
Course it does't have the rare trunk mounted spare or the fancy gauge package or painted wires with white walls, but I'd would be glad to knock off a couple grand for the lack of these,on second thought maybe I should ask for a extra couple thousand for not having screwed up the looks of the car. All in all the car on ebay looks like a nice car but I see little difference in a tri carb bn7 than a 2 carb bn6 or bn7 3000 mk1 Just my opinion. Bob /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/england.gif

Bob, You should start the bidding on yours at 150K with a buy it now price of 210K if HE can get what he is asking. It is amazing what a little TV exposure to Barret Jackson has done to some folks expectations of the value of their cars !
