Woven Rug from Photo

I wanted to give my Sister-in-Law something different for Christmas, so I decided to try sending a photo to "Photobucket" to have a woven blanket/rug made. I've had a few items done by Photobucket (Canvas prints, metal prints, etc.) but I took a chance to try having a woven rug (blanket?) made. I had it sent direct to her, so I didn't get a chance to see how it came out. Well, she decided to open the package early and sent me a picture of it. From just looking at the picture, I'm pretty happy with how it came out (more importantly, she loves it!). Here is the original image (taken at Albuquerque Open Spaces, over on the West side of Albuquerque) along with the resultant rug.

Is it a print or really woven?

I'm thinking woven, with the photo printed on the surface.

Looks great!

Here's a tapestry reproduction I have hanging in my office.
know it's origin?

Origin? A cave in France?

Yes, correct:
The famous Chauvet cave "panel of the lions" of Southern France.
At circa 35000-22000 years, possible the oldest paint art known to date.

what is really amazing is that the art is very good.
