Howdy all. For those in the U.S., I hope you had a great Turkey day. For those of you elsewhere, I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I'm contemplating a new carpet set for my 250, and welcome recommendations that anyone might have. Many thanks!

Can't beat a magic carpet from TRF. If you can afford it go for the wool. They last forever.

Yep - they have my vote. Great fit, and the folks are very easy to work with.

I went with TRF and the Magic Carpet kit as well. Great quality and fit. Make sure that you buy the padding and installation kit. Get the package when Charles is having a sale, which is just about every weekend now. I think that they are trying to hit a banner sales year and may be offering discounts to move product in December. Sign up for the weekly emails of sales flyer's.

Here's my "How To" when mine was installed:

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

I just hope that it helps someone avoid the pitfalls of installing the pieces in the wrong order. Erik, who did mine, has done many and this is the best method of installation to allow for any slight trimming or differences from car to car.

At the Legends show this fall, I heard several guys lamenting about the problems they encountered by not doing the side rails first, etc. I decided that when I had mine done to photograph it for future reference.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

But I suggest you avoid the color grey. My TRF grey carpet in the TR4 looks awful.

They mention in the catalogue that the grey will fade just like the originals did. Well, hardly. My TR4 had the original grey carpet, very worn, that had simply faded to 'faded grey'. What they're using turns a strange shade of orange anywhere sunlight hits it.

I tried dying it but that looks bad to... very flat color with no sheen. It's a shame to toss otherwise good carpet and to have to purchase new in a non-original color (TR4s came with grey) but perhaps that's all I can do.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

Budget concerns had me installing the Moss setthis summer, which was fine and will serve the purpose until they need replacing (with wool )
Very frustrating without a good set of sequencial (very important) instructions. I wish I had Brosky's instruction when I did mine.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

Sorry,I didn't include this above.
Remember to allow for more time than anticipated as you may find some floor "surprises".

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

I did my MGA 2 years ago with a "concours quality" kit from Hertiage uphostery(recommended to me by a T-series group) although the quality of the carpet is outstanding it included no instruction what so ever, and the peices where poorly fit. Every peice had to be retrimmed and refit before final installation - all in all, includeing the "might as wells" it took me two weeks to get it installed to my satisfaction.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

Good luck and watch for the sales at TRF. Don't be afraid to ask for a deal either, especially before year end 2006.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

I'll be doing a TRF carpet kit this winter as well. Did you guys that used the TRF Magic Carpet Kit get the Synthetic or "Real Jute" underfelt? Any recommendations?

Hey Dan, Somebody stole your image.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

I went with the synthetic, per recommendations of Dave at TRF.

Re: Would appreciate carpet recommendations for my

Synthetic for the floor areas and reflectorized for the transmission hump and fire wall. PITA to install the reflectorized on the hump!
I purchased both thru a local auto upholsterer
