worn/old front suspension bushes

My 80B has badly worn and old bushes. Can someone explain to me what is the effect of worn/old bushes in the front suspension and anti roll bar? Is it dangerous? I am wondering if I would need to replace them. :confuse:

The things are built like tanks, it's likely nothing will come apart on ya. The worn control arm bushings would allow the front-end geometry to shift around, it'll wear tires "funny" and may be harder to keep the car going down the road in a straight line.

The lower control arms can (in extreme cases) be wallowed out by the through bolts at the outer ends, usually because of poor maintenance: lack of grease.

Worn sway-bar bushings will usually just make "klanking" noises on cornering or over rough road.

The bronze kingpin bushings are another issue entirely... to replace those requires a reaming tool and press work.

So, I guess I will just ignore the worn bushes and feed grease to the nipples on a regular basis. Great! Thanks Doc.

Finally, I got the camshaft out and the new one supposed to arrive today. Here is the roller-skate wheel you were refering to...
