Tonight I will attend my first ever, and probably only ever, World Series game at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. If you are watching, I will be in left field in the second row. Right now the forecast is for showers, so I won't be taking my camera and won't have any photos to post.

It seems that most people love or hate the Yankees, so many of you can join me in rooting for my Phillies tonight!

Dave- that's pretty cool.
Wendy and I were just discussing whether or not you
might be able to get your hands on a ticket.

Wow!! We are so happy for you!!

Now, about the photos. On my boat I take my pocket
digital and put it inside a plastic zip-lok baggie.
I take it out for photos. You could do the same thing.
Take photos between rain showers.

Can't wait to see your photos.

dale & wendy

Dale,
I would need to acquire a pocket digital. I have a rain cover for the SLR, but last year the humidity on our whale watch in Juneau almost destroyed the camera anyway when I got back inside the boat...I am still debating the camera for tonight.

My opinion- you are probably correct this event will be a once in a lifetime for you.
Wendy is leaving for Boston on Wednesday and leaving her bulky digital SLR at home.
She's taking my pocket camera.

You can purchase any number of small pocket digitals at Costco, Wal*Mart, etc
for less than $100. For this event, I'd consider the small camera just a part
of the cost for night you will never forget. If I'd have known in advance, I'd
have loaned you one of mine.

buy the camera so you can share you adventure with all your friends!!

Dale

Dale,
I did find an old digital in a drawer here, so for now I have two cameras ready to take along. I will wait till I see the weather to decide which goes in with me, but probably the Fujifilm Finepix 3800 from a few years back.

Dave;

Have a great time, and, yes, I'm cheering for the Phillies as well!
If you can, take pics, but most of all, enjoy the moment.
I will be looking for you.

Dave :winner1:

P.S. A huge BCF poster would make you highly recognizable.

Dave - I'll be looking for you every time the TV camera rolls past the crowd....stand up and wave your jacket or something so we can recognize you!

I was actually waving my white towel. I am sure you all saw me between the rain drops. Since my grandkids were staying here with Peg while their parents were at the game, I ended up getting less than 4 hours sleep. I did get a few decent photos, which I will post later. I was disappointed with the results of the game, but it was fun...

Here is a photo of me, my oldest son Scott, his wife Megan, and our youngest, Mike. Mike treated Scott and Megan as a late wedding present, and I got to tag along. This photo This photo is by the Citizen Bank Park photographers as you enter the stadium...

I'll be in Philly today for the next few days.
A great city (even if I am more of a Yankee fan).

Grandchildern can wear you out, but I still love watching my 21 month old grandaughter. We did Halloween at their house last night. Great fun!

My son-in-law went to Michigan, so we were disappointed by the football results (giving out candy with one eye on the game

).
My other son-in-law works for the Jets, so I guess I have become a Michigan & Jets fan by default.

My *real* sport team is ~These Guys~

I have posted a few photos on Flickr that I shot with the small 10 year old point and shoot last night. My boxers were still wet when I got home after the 1 plus ride home from the game, but rain did not dampen our enjoyment of actually attending the World Series.

They take photos of everybody who enters the park? Do you have to give permission?
