Hey guys

I absolutely had the time of my life today (and it involved neither Disneyland nor alien abduction!). We went to Prairieville, LA and got to meet Gerry Masterman and his wife, and pick up the vehicle he had offered to me.

The roadster we picked up was absolutely fantastic. It has some work ahead of it, but it is in incredible condition. No rust anywhere as far we can tell. The floors and sills seem to be rock solid, and the fit and finish on the body panels is amazing. I took TONS of pictures.

I truely want to thank Gerry for giving me this wonderful gift. I certainly appreciate what he has done for me, and I certainly hope that I am able to repay him in kind down the road.

I really also want to thank everyone on this board. Recently, we've been able to see prime examples of how close-knit our family is. I truly feel as though not only have you all made me a more knowledgeable person about MGs, but really reinforces the fact that good people still exist in the world. I just hope I can one day contribute to y'all what I've been able to glean from you all.

Let me get off my soapbox here, but once again, thank you so much Gerry. I really do appreciate it.

Looks like a very solid example of the marque!

Good luck!

You bought from the best. They don't come any better, or more honest, that Gerry. Congrads on the buy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Zack - looks like a good find!

Knowing it is a gift is even better. Gerry is a class act and I'm proud to call him my friend /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Looks like you'll have a lot of fun fixing it up... and afterwards....

Is it just me or does that paint look like it will preaty well buff out?

Wow, what a nice thing for a guy to do.

Wow...I've paid good money for cars much worse than that....Very nice of Garry to give it away!

Its absolutely amazing. I cant possibly thank him enough, but I CAN tell everyone on this board that when he gets back to making parts and accessories, please send your business to him!

You should see the cars he's working on. Gorgeous!

That what I need a free roadster.

"gets back to making parts and accessories"

And who is this person who makes parts and accessories??

Gerry Masterman... I think he sometimes frequents this board, but he is moreso on the MGBE BBS.

Great guy, and I've heard nothing but good things about the varied accessories he makes for MGBs, such as hood release kits, etc.

Aluminum seat spacers to replace those wooden ones, steering column bushings...stuff like that...he's the kind of guy who drove a couple hundred miles one Saturday morninig to help me load an old MG1100 & lots of parts because I was in his state (Louisiana) & didn't know anybody to help me....& then wouldn't let me pay for lunch!

He's a great one. Matter of fact he just mentioned to me that if the hubby and I would go to some MG gathering in Georgia he would drive up to meet us. He also has his hands full with the business and all. Great guy all around and I wish I knew the words to explain how nice he is /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Alum seat spacers to replace the wooden ones. Really. Does he have a web site?

Jack, gmasterman@aol.com . That's his email address. He'll send you a list of what he has. I got new stainless steel stalk buttons from him and they look great. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif PJ
