We went to the Woodland car show on Sunday. We met in Oakly, John, Glen, Bob, Me and another fellow that I cant recall his name. We had a Morgan, Austin Healy and three TR3s drove the 65 miles to the show at 75 to 80 mph and sometimes 90 mph (gotta get a overdrive when I fix the TR). Met a lot of very nice people, lots of great information and had lots of fun. Met a couple BCFers ( Larry & Gill) There were many beautiful cars there ( I liked the MGA twin cam)very nice. I hope to have the TR3 back together and done by the Triumphfest in San Luis Obispo.
My Wife met us up there. She drove the Audi with A/C the temp was 101 on the way home. Pretty warm drive (plenty of sun block)The Temp on the engin never got above the 200 mark.
Oh and we won third place! Smashed rear-end and all!! My Beautiful Wife was more excited then I was.
P.S. I will be talking with a attorney on Wednesday about settlement on the damage to the car and the damage to me. But their is no damage me to (or my Wife's) spirit. We are looking forward to rebuilding and not replacing the TR3.

Dan...Woodland was good this year...and glad you were able to be part of it. I am sure the 100 degree temps left some of the cars at home...but still a good turnout.
Trip home I had my hands full trying to keep the temp gauge on the TR3A within reason. Much to my co pilots distaste...finally turned the heater on full blast...and that dropped the temp by 5 to 10 degrees.
Hope the Insurance folks treat you within reason.
Question for them: "If you had done all this restoration work
would you be happy with the check you are offering?"
Good luck...Gil

We had a good time as well. Lots of great cars, there was a red TR250 that I absolutely loved. I also really liked the Mini Cooper with the Vtec engine. I left the TR6 at home because I went with my wife and 18 month old daughter.

Sounds like a great time guys - and good to hear your spirits are up Dan (tinman58).

And Dan C - you need a Rover SD1. Plenty of room for the kid(s).

I too liked the show, unfortunately I missed the BCF guys.

I also liked the MGA's.

It was hot. The drive to Visalia was full of LBC's.

Great job to those who made it happen...

Cheers,

Steve

Dan,
It looks like it was a good show, with a good number of TRs. I am glad that you are still able to use your TR and it seems to be tracking OK.
I, like you, would want to rebuild, rather than replace if the worst was to happen.
Good luck with the insurance.

...Sour grapes I guess but the participants are the only ones who vote and seem to mostly vote for their friends.

Larry, Don't you have many friends :jester:

Larry
Your TR8 IS beautiful...and probably not being a "local" did cost you a few votes...but mine did go your way...as it should have. Thanks for stopping and checking out my non-winning red TR3A. Best part of these shows beside getting to see some other great cars...is the fellow British Car Lovers!
Keep the spirit going! Gil
