TR2/3/3A Wood strip in B post.

Is the wood strip in the B posts just for attaching the door seal and side panel? Mine is missing on the passenger side and I was wondering what I should do about replacing it.

That wood strip was actually more of a cardboard that was rolled and compressed into a spiral tube. It is held in by some tabs on the body. I recall this question coming up before but do not remember the variety of replacements beside just a good piece of wood. And yes it was for tacking, with tacks not nails, the door seal in place. I believe the side panel screws into the body near there but not into this piece.

I took a dowel about the size of the groove, flattened one side with a belt sander and voila. Standard cheap HD dowel, not hardwood.
