MGB Wiring problem....this should be fun :[

Well, I installed my new horns, reinstalled the grill and bumper.......then decided I should check the lights. They worked properly before. Not now. Obviously I disturbed something (or some things) while playing around under the slam panel.

Now when the parking lights are switched on:
-RF parking lamp is bright, LF parking lamp is dim.
-LR is fine, but RR both the turn signal lamp and the brake lamp are lit.

With the headlamps on everything is the same as above - except that the LF headlamp is also dim (RF is fine). Turn signals don't work.

With the lights off, the turn signals work - but the right side is dim (both F & R)

Hazards work fine.

Looks like I'll be pulling the bumper and grille off again to recheck all the connections - especially any grounds. Shoulda checked then before I reinstalled those (although it's only a few minutes to yank them off)...

My money's on ground connections.

Yeah...that's the most likely. It's easy to disturb old wiring and connections when you've got limited access to the area.

Well that was quick and easy! Didn't even have to break out the old multimeter  First thing found was an unplugged ground wire on the left side. That fixed the dim headlamp and parking lamp on that side. Second was a suspect connection at the right front parking lamp. Fixed that and now everything works perfectly!

It always amazes me how a bad connection on one end of the car can create havoc at the lamps on the other end
