Wiring Diagram for Fog Lights

One for each head lamp and one for the fog lights. I've had this set up for the last 15-18 years using a second 3 position switch replacing the dash light switch. Position1 = off, position 2 =dash lights, Position 3 = dash lights and fog lights.
Unfortunately, I had a power failure somewhere and tore everything apart before I realized it was a blown axillary, in line fuse. I am trying to restore the system. It was a neat setup with fog lights off with high beams on.
I lost the original notes (senior moment). Norman Nock walked me through it originally. Dave had no ideas on this system and suggested some alternatives, but I loved the previous set-up.

TH, I believe you shared your three-relay headlight low high beam and driving /fog lights schematic on this form those many years ago. I followed it to set up my relays. However, I operate the driving lights on a separate toggle. I check my notes and post them.

I DID have a diagram, but it disappeared. I got a great one from a friend that I am about to use. I have a working system now that I engineered without the relays. (I added a pilot light to light me know when the fogs are on.) I prefer the relays.

Bringing back some past lighting posts and diagrams:

Might be helpful.

This is a great diagram that John Turney (of this forum) sent me. It made more sense and the job is done.

Thanks.

I have a layout somewhere with 2 relays, spots and fogs (all fitted with LEDs ) and with warning lights, wired through the Dipswitch with an over ride on the fogs, so they can be used seperatly. Note to self - I must find it.

I did include a small "pilot" light to indicate when the fogs are on that is not included in John's diagram. The switch and light are on the drop-down gauge holder photo I posted earlier on the amp/volt thread.

Thanks for testing the wiring, TH. Now I know it works.

Some toggle switches have a LED light in the tip of the handle that lights when the switch is on.

Hello Bob
Installed led lights all around and I would like to add Fog lights with LED’s. Do you have a recommendation for yellow 5ā€ fogs on a ā€˜65 3000? I an attaching through the pan behind the bumper. Also welcome opinions on best looking size of lamp. Thank you!
-Andrew
