Wiring a volt meter

For a connection point, any ignition switched wire should work, White - wire, # 9 on the diagrams, to the hot side of the VM. Black wire from the other side of the VM to a convenient ground.

Hi TH, Daves colors are correct. However, that circuit is harder to access on the BJ8. To minimise wire length the first choice would be pin #2 on the Ignition SW. The second choice would be under the bonnet on the left hand side where a single bullet connector feeds the Fuel pump via a white wire. Replace the single bullet connector with a double and then run a new white wire from there back to the meter. Similarly, Terminal #3 on the fuse block can also be used. However, if yolu use the fuse block connecting to terminal #4 wil serve a dual purpose. The meter will read voltage and also monitor the condition of the 35 Amp Fuse. Since it is only monitoring voltage a large wire gauge is not required and an AWG #20 or 22 should do the trick. The Gnd can be connected to a convient chassis spot under the dash---Fwiw--Keoke
