Wiring a horn on a mower

NO Momentary button switch, relay, and horn that the mower battery will power. That should be all you need.
 
You must have a very quiet mower to need a horn! :D
 
Simple diagram! (You can omit the relay, but it's not a good idea.)

I don't think the diode belongs in that diagram either.
 
Some automotive type horn circuits (like on the MGB's) have the horn always hooked to battery + and the button connects the other side to ground.
 
I wonder if the original poster might be discouraged, when his simple request for help resulted in a string of jokes.

And FWIW mine was a serious suggestion - I am the king of making simple things complicated snd this could be all the horn required. :cheers:

Hey my suggestion, if you are tryng to get attention while riding a mower, is serious too! A lawnmower is loud and it would take something like an air horn to be heard over the noise the mower makes. Guess my question to the OP would be what are you trying to accomplish with the horn. If you do end up wiring a horn per Tom's diagram, I would make sure it's a fairly loud horn.
 
Don't forget headlights to mow at night to wake neighbors.

That can be real serious - my mower has headlights (not very bright - same bulbs as automotive backup lamps) but I have been known to mow after dark. When the daytime temps are pushing well over 100, after dark makes sense.
 
Why worry about headlamps, I'd suggest used football field lighting. 8 or 10 of those round the property you can annoy not just the close neighbors but those a block away.
