Wire Wheel Rear End Value

I might have found a 1/4 eliptical wire wheel rear end from a MKII spridget about two hours from my house. I know I'm probably absolutely nuts for wanting to covert my Bugeye to wires, but how much is a rear end like that worth?

I dunno, many people want to convert to steel wheels. If it is complete and you really want it... 150-225?

I'm just guessing.

BTW, I was at our car show last night and there was a bugeye there with chrome wire wheels. I'll get a picture if he has it there again today.

I guess it also depend on if the splines on the axles have any life left in them.

I have chrome Daytons on my B and love them. But I know wires are a pain, but I really love the look. There is a guy up here that has a MGA with painted wires and nice fat white walls. I love it! But I'm sure I could put fat white walls on steel wheels and it would look good too.

John:

Does it have the front spindles?

There was one here for $225 w/o spindles which I thought was too much $. At least for me to stock pile.

Remember that it will limit your tire size a lil bit compard to some type of mini's.

They do look hot with chrome ww though.

The guy that owns it is pulling it out from a pile of crapola to check it out. I don't have many details at this point.
