wire harness 70 midget -

I notice in your pics that on your 70 midget there are not front side marker lights. Now that I have a running vehicle I need to reconnect the wire harness. I have 3 wires hanging down from each headlight, and 2 wires hanging down from each turn/parking light. The horns are not mounted right now but have spade connectors. The wireharness seems to have to many wires. I have yet to clean and start continuity checks but is the harness wired for side marker lights. My car has no mounting holes in the fenders. There are way to many wires from the 3 or 4 breakouts from the wire harness. I have the wire diagram and it shows side light wiring. If these are not the original fenders could this explain the lack of mounting holes. ANd finally if the harness has wires for these lights and I don't insatll them can I leave the wires unconnected ???

Re: wire harness 70 midget - Hey Trevor!!!

Do you have side markers on the rear? My car originally had the markers, but I removed them and filled the holes. I do not remember the color wires, but if you have extra, they are most likely for side markers. Just tape up and tuck away what you don't need. Later I fitted headlamps with low wattage running bulbs in the housing. I used the side marker wires to power those lights.

And remember those horns are ground switched.... I think.

Ground switched??
I know each has 4 spade connectors and there are I think 6 spade connectors in the middle breakout of the wire harness, 2 from power, two to go from first horn, 2 from first horn to second horn (if I read the diagram correctly)

Yes, purple and purple with black tracer IIRC. One of those is always "hot". The other is isolated until the horn button is pushed, then it becomes grounded and the horns go BEEP!
