TR2/3/3A Wiper motor testing?

1)Can I put 12 volts directly from the battery to the green wire terminal on the wiper motor to see if it's working?
2)I seem to have power to both terminals on the wiper switch when the switch is pushed in(off position)....what's up with that?

1) Yes, but make sure you are on the right terminal. Otherwise, you'll have a short to ground when the park switch closes.

Don't forget, you'll need to ground the other terminal to make it run.

2) I'd say that means you didn't hook up the ground wire.

1)Double checking...the green wire goes to the uppermost connector on the motor...the green black goes to the lower one...the black ground wire goes to the screw near the top of the motor casing...the eyelet ground wire goes to the motor pedastal bolt?
2) I believe I have the later wiper motor...dosn't the switch have green wire to one terminal and black green to the other? There is a thin black ground wire behind the control panel that is not connected ,I thought that wire was there in case you needed it to attach to the switch if you had the earlier motor? If not that... then where does that ground wire attach to?

Sounds right to me...

Brown wire on top right= park limit switch.

M.

Switch gets the green/black wire and a black ground wire that comes out of the harness.

Yes, that reddish brown wire is for the park function and is part of the motor so it doesn't not appear on wiring diagrams. As I recall - omit it and the motor won't run, let it short to ground (like a insulation break where it enters the housing) and the motor won't shut off.

All this is as found on TS47905L. As you may know there was a very different set-up earlier. I think yours will be like mine but you may encounter wiring diagrams for the early set-up than can confuse things.
