wiper motor grommets

Can anyone tell me how to fit the wiper motor grommets into/around the appropriate holes?

The double thick grommets seem like they are about twice the size of the holes they are supposed to fit into...and hard so they're not very pliable.

No easy way, just push and push and push.

Maybe let them soak in hot water too?

If they are truly to big, take a razor knive and one side, then make another cut just a litle to the side, removing an eight and inch of material. More or less to your needs. I don't think I could ever have gotten my seal around the gas tank spot without this method. Any lub works, and sometimes a small flat bladed screw driver. Also a brewskie.

I ended up not making any cuts, but just pushing and pushing. Each one took about 10 minutes or so. Lube would have probably been a good call.

The only prob with lube is it makes it hard for old fingers to hold on tight.

A good silicone grease can make the deed a bit easier too.
