TR4/4A Wiper motor for TR4

Hi,

Has anyone ever tried fitting a later Spitfire, TR6 or GT6 wiper motor/gearbox to a TR4 (or 4A for that matter)? How about a Jaguar XK120 or XKE wiper motor/gearbox?

When the TR4s were rallying they were fitted with a special Lucas heavy duty 2-speed wiper motor that has a round motor cannister, similar to the ones I've seen on the above cars. I've got the two speed switch (including the special knob, otherwise the same as the headlight switch), but am still looking for a usable wiper motor.

I know 2-speed motors were used on TR4A and were available as special order on TR4, too (Lucas DR3, if I recall correctly... the one-speed motor is DR3A). But, both of those have the rectangular motor housing. Not what I'm looking for.

TIA!

Alan, Isn't the 6 motor a 1 speed motor and just uses a resister to change the speed?

Sent ya a PM Alan
