Wondering if anyone has found a way to renew the discolored windshield washer and coolant bottles? Besides just replacing them.....

The consensus on other forums seems to be that the plastic itself has changed, and there is no practical way to change it back. Lots of formulas given to try (baking soda, bleach, hydrogen peroxide, etc) but most said they didn't help much. I talked to a PhD chemist, who told me the same thing. Something about the bonds in long chain molecules breaking apart (leaving short chain molecules) but I don't remember the rest.

Thank you for the reply! Some former owner had slopped paint on both the poly bottles. Where the paint was , still looks like new but the exposed parts are very discolored. Seems like sunlight damage. I'll add them to the parts list... The very long parts list...
