WINTER

Well the winter and snow are really here.Lucky for procrastinators like me it was an excellent fall. The Lister is wrapped up and snug. Finally got around to scrapping the old 69GT Alpine that was just too rusty.Pulled the 2.8 and parts. Now to bring in the 62 and pull the 2.6.It just has too many miles although it was so reliable. It will have a new motor plus a 5 speed.I have definitly decided to go ala tiger and make a modified Alger. This plus I have a 53 Meteor.Thats a Canadian Ford for you yanks. So I have lots to keep me busy as well as doing the snow.I have done it twice today. This plus some of the other stuff I like doing and some skiing will certainly keep the blues away unless it is the musical variety.
So what are you doing to keep busy this winter or this time of year.
We wish all a peaceful Christmas and may all your roads be a delight to drive.

Wow! Snow! I have forgotten what it looks like! Mind you, I can't say I miss driving in it. The skiing sounds like fun, I have never done it. My hubby is originally from Toronto and I am English, so we have both seen plenty of it. It did snow down here about 3 years ago, but it is a very rare occurrence.
Hope you have a merry Christmas also.

Aren't snow and ice grand???? I took the spitfire to my brother's hanger today to work on the master and slave for the clutch as it was snowing and nothing was flying. I had the whole work area to myself which was great.

When I got out on the road I felt like a guy who had worn roller skates to the hockey rink. Luckily the rest of the drivers on the rode were playing it cool so I was able to slip and slide my way back into winter driving mode without mishap. I was even beginning to enjoy it. Even thought about putting the top down so people could see how really crazy I am. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

We had our first snow (very light) yesterday (Dec 6). Changed to slushy ice after an hour.
The racing Spridget is parked in my drive-in basement and the Miata will live outside all Winter (so will the truck). The Miata is getting its Blizzak winter-tires put on today. I have moved the rusty '65 Sprite to a position near the basement doors, in prepartion for pulling the engine/trans and dragging them inside. The '65 is drivable and complete but it's too far gone (rust-wise) so I'll chop it up and use it for a Sprite-based project I'm designing right now.

Chuck, thanks and happy Holidays to you, too!

Hey, those ski things: they don't have brakes on them, do they? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nonod.gif

Well not really. For really fast stops you can sit on your rear.I can stop pretty fast due to the large braking surface. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gifEspecially after too many /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

It's dropped to 83 degrees here. Guess winter has started.

It sounds as if you are near where the wind farm is going to be.Where are you located.I'm in Birds Hill just minutes from the park. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/canpatriot.GIF

Right in Winnipeg /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Good thing for all the buildings protecting me from the wind /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Give us a call sometime and maybe will get together for coffee. We can always put the pot on and my good wife always has some goodies to have tucked in the freezer. That is unless I get to them but I'm getting better and leaving them alone for the most part.

Christmas

I will take this moment to wish all the best and most peaceful Christmas.May all your roads for 2005 be sunny.
And what did we get for Christmas?
I have a new 302. 2 T5 trannys and a 53 Meteor.Actually I do have the Meteor but bringing it home right after
NewYears. It will be getting crowded again just after I finally had space.Oh well it was empty space so what could a car guy do but fill it.
